The chair and staff clarified that the mayoral office and council have the final appointment authority and that background checks and other administrative steps follow the nomination.
Board members discussed timing for appointments. One member said, if the process proceeds on the expected timeline, the new members would likely be aboard by April or May, though others cautioned they were not certain and that the process can take several weeks to months. The subcommittee presenter said staff would forward the names after the meeting.
The board also agreed the subcommittee had designated two alternates and that staff will contact alternates if openings arise. Members asked staff to retain application materials so the process does not require reapplication if seats open later.
