Belleville council approves vehicle purchase, contracts, TIF transfer and multiple permits

The Belleville City Council on Feb. 13 approved a series of finance, contracting and development measures, voting to buy a police interceptor, extend a landscape services contract, accept a roofing bid, pay off a special-service-area bond, close Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district 13 and transfer remaining funds to TIF 3, and to approve several event permits and development agreements.

The measures were presented together by the finance and economic development committees and passed without substantive debate. Council members voted by roll call on the listed items; the meeting record shows the motions carried and the mayor declared each motion carried.

Key actions approved included the purchase of a 2024 Ford Police Interceptor from Morrow Brothers Ford for $48,778; extension of the citys grass and yard maintenance agreement with Minton Outdoor Services, Inc., through April 30, 2029 at the current contract rates; acceptance of a BP Roofing bid of $53,890 plus a possible additional $4,000 for replacement of the maintenance shop roof at 17 N. 12th Street; and payment of the remaining balance on the special ad valorem tax bonds (Special Service Area Bond Series 2006) by the end of the current fiscal year.
