Airport staff reported to trustees that the Federal Aviation Administration approved a proposed private hangar adjacent to what was described as the former BP hangar at the local airport.
The airport representative said the matter had been under discussion for several months and that FAA approval applied only to that specific hangar; other airport matters remain on hold pending additional IDOT and FAA approvals. When trustees asked whether the hangar was private and who the operator would be, the airport presenter said a private hangar is proposed but he could not recall the operator’s name at the meeting and offered to provide that detail later.
Trustees asked about sign and advertising conditions related to the airport site and whether any sign approvals would need to be routed through the village under existing agreements with Aurora. Staff said they would check the village’s agreement with Aurora to see if signage or advertising control had to come through the village.
