Jake Patel answered trustees’ questions about seating and operations. He said the three bar stools shown on the plan can be removed and replaced with additional table seating. Patel said the business will focus on wings and operate like an independent local wing restaurant rather than as a franchise.
Trustees asked whether the restaurant would permit outside food, whether alcohol could be taken to shared outdoor seating, and whether Patel had prior liquor‑license experience. Patel said outside food would be allowed, and he confirmed he has not previously held an Illinois liquor license but expects to be the primary licensee for Route 47 and a separate planned Cilantro location in the future. Patel said Cilantro’s liquor application will be submitted later.
Trustees discussed training and municipal review processes for first‑time licensees. Michael said state training for servers applies and that the village will review the local license application before state filing. Trustees suggested closer involvement by the police department in first‑time license approvals to ensure applicants understand state and local rules.
No formal vote on the Route 47 Wings & Tavern liquor license was recorded on the meeting transcript. The item was moved up on the agenda at the applicant’s request so the applicant would not wait through the entire meeting; trustees approved that agenda amendment earlier in the session.
