La Porte commission renews $4,500 professional-services agreement with Indiana Landmarks

The La Porte Historic Preservation Commission on Feb. 19 approved a one-year renewal of its professional-services agreement with Indiana Landmarks for $4,500.
Commission members said the contract and cost are unchanged from the previous year. "It's really valuable to have the expertise and input from Indiana Landmarks," Krista Hurley King said while introducing the item. Deb Parcel, representing Indiana Landmarks, confirmed there were no major changes to the agreement.
The contract covers Indiana Landmarks' professional services to the commission and includes individual memberships, which give commissioners access to classes offered across the state. Krista Hurley King asked for a motion to approve the agreement; Fonda Owens seconded. The commission voted in favor and the motion carried.
The approval preserves the commission's existing relationship with Indiana Landmarks, which commissioners described as providing statewide preservation resources and training.
