Canal Winchester Joint Rec District reports growth, new programs and expanded financial assistance

Grant Pierce, director of the Canal Winchester Joint Recreation District (CWJRD), summarized the agency’s 2024 season and 2025 plans at the Feb. 18 council meeting.
“We did have a little over 2,200 registrations across all of our programs in 2024,” Pierce told council, highlighting that the district reintroduced tackle football and cheerleading, purchased new helmets and pads, and moved youth games to the high-school turf. Pierce said the fifth- and sixth-grade teams “did very well” and one team finished third in the league.
