Community provider asks district for point of contact on school mental health services

Jonathan Carter, an outpatient manager with Everwell Community Health, addressed the Maple Heights City Schools Board during the public participation period and asked for a district contact to discuss providing community-based mental health services in schools.
Carter said Everwell is a Summit County–based community mental health agency expanding services to neighboring districts and asked, “who does Maple Heights use for mental health services and possibly if there's any type of policy that we could… start in the school district.” He identified himself as a past resident of Maple Heights and said he wanted to return services to the community.
Dela Floyd (identified in the meeting as a district contact) replied that she would be the person to follow up and asked Carter to leave his contact information with Moana Honeycutt so staff could get in touch. Carter left his information and board staff agreed to follow up.
No board action was taken; the exchange was recorded as public comment with a staff commitment to follow up.
