Human Services Committee confirms community-board appointments for Community Service Board and Office for Aging advisory council

The committee confirmed a reappointment to the Chautauqua County Community Service Board (CSB). Committee members discussed the CSB as an eight-member multidisciplinary stakeholder group within the county’s mental-hygiene framework that advises on services and state-aid applications; staff described members as nurses, therapists and community representatives.
The committee also approved the appointment of Virginia Harper to the Chautauqua County Office for Aging Advisory Council. Dana Corwin, director of the Office for Aging Services, said she met Harper during outreach and vaccination work and described Harper as having 35 years at ECMC, active in the Dunkirk area and involved with the statewide senior action council as an ambassador. Corwin said Harper had attended one council meeting and had researched programs and services prior to applying.
Both confirmations were approved by voice vote; no roll-call vote was recorded in the transcript.
