Board discussion and operations Board members and staff reviewed operational preparations for the coming season. Staff reported receiving loads of dirt from other city departments, including material from road construction, and said crews have been grading and smoothing that material to fill trenches and assist bunker work. Sand applied during recent maintenance was praised by a member as having “worked in quickly” with no rocks.
Hosting and external programs Members noted that the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) changed its tournament policy and no longer holds a regional qualifier that had been hosted at Sunset Hills; staff said the course was not selected to host state qualifiers this year. The board discussed being on a waiting list for a state golf trail commission program and said staff had contacted the lieutenant governor’s office to express interest.
Facility projects and administrative issues The planned equipment/maintenance shed was reported as pushed back to 2027; staff said the timing awaits deactivation of a facility referenced as “Elks.” Board members also discussed Seaboard’s change in payroll/check processing and inconsistent communication affecting Seaboard employees who sign up through the golf course; staff said they would follow up with the community director and HR contacts.
Personnel and calendar The board introduced new member Russell Egbert. Staff said Keith Fox will assume a staff role serving the board after the next meeting. The board set its next meeting for April 15, Tax Day.
The meeting included routine roll call, swearing-in of members and the standard public-comment materials; no new ordinances or binding policy changes were proposed during the session.
