The Waunakee Village Board approved changes to the Community Development Department structure, effective March 1, 2025, including elimination of a community development/public works office manager position, creation of a senior planner/GIS manager position (placed on the wage scale at H‑18), and modification of the community development director position to include the title deputy administrator and placement on the wage scale at S‑14.
The board also authorized the village administrator to engage a recruiting firm for recruitment of the deputy administrator/community development director position at a cost not to exceed $10,000.
The action followed a closed‑session personnel discussion authorized under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c). After returning to open session, a board member moved the staffing changes and the board approved the motion by voice vote with no dissent recorded. The village administrator is authorized to proceed with recruitment and organizational changes described in the motion.
Staff will implement the wage scale changes and engage a recruiting firm to assist in candidate identification for the deputy administrator/community development director role.
