Sheriff's Office staff said the renewal covers North Harmony (following a merger of Harmony and North Harmony courts) and the towns of Kinetone, Stockton, Ellery, Poland, Charlotte, Mina and Sheridan. The agreements were included in the county’s 2025 budget.
Committee members asked how hours are scheduled and billed. Staff said the number of hours per town depends on each court’s schedule and caseload; the county assigns part-time deputies for court security, bills towns quarterly for the hours worked and will adjust coverage if the allocated amounts are close to being exceeded. The committee voted to approve the renewals.
