Cayuga County Legislature approves bundled contracts, tables pay increase for nonbargaining staff

The Cayuga County Legislature voted on a series of bundled resolutions, contracts and staffing authorizations at its Jan. 15 meeting in Auburn, approving most committee bundles while tabling a proposed salary adjustment for nonbargaining employees.

The most consequential action on the floor was the tabling of Ways & Means resolution WM‑7, which would have authorized a $2,300 flat increase for full‑time nonbargaining employees and a 2% adjustment for part‑time nonbargaining employees. Legislators debated whether to pause the increase while federal grant funding and broader budget uncertainty are under review; a motion to table WM‑7 carried. Members then approved WM‑1 through WM‑6 and WM‑8 as a bundle.

Legislators also approved extensive Health and Human Services (HHS) contracting bundles.
