Committee advances grant to help port supply-chain infrastructure

Representative Thomas, speaking for a district with substantial port activity, urged a yes vote, saying his district benefits from efficient supply chains. "As a representative of a district that has quite a bit of port and benefits from efficient supply chains, I urge yes," Thomas said. Representative Barnard also urged support, saying the bill would help keep Washington state competitive and continue economic development.
There were no amendments to the bill. The committee conducted a voice vote; staff announced the result as 12 ayes and one excused and reported House Bill 18-60 out of committee with a due-pass recommendation.
