At the conclusion of the Feb. 2025 budget workshop the Louisa County Board of Supervisors voted to enter closed session. A supervisor moved that the board convene a closed session “pursuant to the following subsections of Virginia code, section 2.2-3711” to discuss (1) personnel matters involving specific public officers or employees and (2) prospective business or industrial development in the Mountain Road District where no prior public announcement had been made.
The chair called for a vote; the motion passed and the board recessed to closed session.
The motion cited Virginia Code §2.2-3711(a)(1) (personnel) and §2.2-3711(a)(5) (prospective business/industrial recruitment). The board did not disclose details of the closed-session topics in the public workshop.
