District administrators reported preliminary health‑insurance renewal figures and a dependent‑eligibility audit during the February meeting of the Community High School District 94 Board of Education.
The district’s EVC preliminary renewal meeting and an insurance-committee meeting with Gallagher representatives produced initial estimates: a 4.3 percent projected increase for HMO plans, a 9 percent increase for PPO plans and an estimated 4.1 percent increase for dental coverage for the 2025–26 plan year, according to the Director of Human Services’ report. The district insurance committee of teachers and support‑staff representatives recommended maintaining the current plans for FY26; any employee cost sharing would follow the language in collective bargaining agreements.
The director also reported that an initial dependent‑eligibility audit (covering Oct. 1–Nov. 15 for the cooperative) verified all but two D94 dependents and that the cooperative (EBC) estimates about $8,600,000 in potential savings over the next five years from removing ineligible dependents. The transcript records that two D94 dependents were found ineligible in the initial audit period; administration said the cooperative would continue the verification process.
In related staffing action, the board approved an Appendix B recommendation to add one head coach and two assistant coaches for IHSA girls flag football in the 2025–26 school year; the administration had presented an estimated cost for those positions of approximately $9,954.
Ending: The committee-recommended decision to keep the same plans for FY26 was reported to the board; any final plan selections or employer contributions will follow further work by the insurance committee and the district’s bargaining agreements.
