The Wyoming City Council unanimously adopted a resolution honoring Howard Krueger for longtime volunteer service on the Wyoming Recreation Commission.
The resolution, read and presented at the meeting, thanked Krueger for service dating to July 2002 and cited his work on projects that included the municipal pool, the skateboard park and the city—s acquisition of the Walter and Nell Gross YMCA property.
Krueger used his remarks to recount early recreation projects and to thank volunteers and staff. He described the city—s purchase of the YMCA property at 9940 Springfield Pike and recalled the committee work that led to construction of a new pool and development of the skateboard park. Krueger said grant funding of $111,000 from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources helped fund the skatepark.
Councilmembers and Recreation Commission colleagues praised Krueger—s institutional knowledge, volunteerism and role as a community mentor. A motion to adopt the resolution was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
The resolution was entered into the council minutes as passed "unanimously this February 2025" and a copy was presented to Krueger at the meeting.
Krueger thanked fellow commissioners and community members and said he would remain active in community projects.
