El Dorado Chamber executive director reviews 2024 activities, upcoming events

Greg Mudd, executive director of the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, presented the chamber’s 2024 annual review during the Feb. 3 City Commission meeting.
Mudd said the chamber hosted its second annual youth entrepreneur challenge for Butler County high-school students and planned a third event pending weather. He said the chamber launched a small-business-focused young professionals group, produced a chamber newspaper, supported promotional campaigns with local media outlets (107.9 FM and KWCH Channel 12) and assisted Experience El Dorado with advisory work on tourism and events.
Mudd listed partnerships and community activities that included a memorandum of understanding with the local unified school district regarding a performance art center, participation in a Kansas Turnpike Authority event to provide K-tags to residents, involvement in HF Sinclair’s community advisory panel and help expanding Kansas eCommunity loan listings. He said the chamber added nine members since November and hosted three ribbon cuttings since his last presentation, naming Freddy’s Frozen Custard among businesses celebrated.
Mudd invited the commission and the public to upcoming chamber events, including Chamber Chat on March 5 and the chamber’s annual dinner on Feb. 27, and asked attendees to follow the El Dorado Chamber Facebook page for weekly business features.
