Amy Fester presented Borger Inc.'s fiscal year 2024 annual report and described growth in downtown renovation, recruitment and strategic investments.
"This last year was a year of growth, strategic investment, recruitment, and resilience for our community," Fester told the council, noting that the organization budgeted $3,000,000 for the year and spent about $2,000,000, keeping reserves available to invest when opportunities arose. She said one downtown incubator space was renovated and is now occupied by the ICI Bar and that the Yucca Park Estates housing project has gained "massive momentum" with first houses expected in spring.
Fester highlighted a county GDP figure included in the report and thanked the city and council for their support. After the presentation the council moved to approve the Borger Inc. FY2024 annual report as submitted; the motion passed on voice vote.
The presentation and approval do not create or change city appropriations in the meeting record; Fester said Borger Inc. will continue downtown renovation and economic‑development activities documented in the report.
