Patrick Dunson presented the plan and said the city received approximately $1.4 million in Rebuild Alabama funds for the year and proposed adding local tax money to reach a resurfacing program of a little over $2 million. Dunson said he spread the funds roughly evenly across the nine districts, estimating about $225,000 per district "to try to evenly spend that across the district." He said a list of proposed streets was included in the council packet for consideration.
The presentation was informational and intended to bring the proposed list of streets and funding allocations to the council; staff will proceed with the programmed work and follow the usual procurement and scheduling steps for resurfacing projects.
