The Board of Lewis County Commissioners on Feb. 18 ratified a change order for renovations at the Lewis County homeless shelter, bringing the total Chuy Soh contract to $103,629.
"With this change order, the total contract amount is $103,629," said Eric Eisenberg, speaking on behalf of the Lewis County homeless shelter. He described the change order as covering "some labor intensive but relatively easy work" that the contractor will perform instead of county staff.
Eisenberg said the revised contract amount is "well under the $160,000 estimate that the county had for the work." A commissioner then requested that the three commissioners arrange a site visit to view the nearly finished interior and the remaining exterior frontage work, including sidewalks, curbs and gutters.
The resolution was approved as part of deliberation items on the Feb. 18 agenda and passed by voice vote as part of a grouped motion on resolutions 25-051 through 25-053; the recording shows the motion carried 3-0.
