West York student council plans Mini-Thon, previews Addams Family musical

Will Ploppert, vice president of the West York High School Student Council, reported at the meeting that student council is preparing for a Mini-Thon fundraiser and thanked the administration for a $900 donation to support the event.
Ploppert said the Mini-Thon community hour will include three food trucks (Bricher's, Kona Ice and Daddy Mac's), a luminary walk to honor those affected by cancer and a reveal of total funds raised; the event was scheduled for March 22. He said the administration’s $900 gift will pay for food, drinks and supplies for the event. Ploppert asked that district staff and community members consider attending the community hour.
Student performers presented a short excerpt of The Addams Family musical; cast member Landon, who played Gomez, told the board the full performances run Feb. 28 and March 1 at 7 p.m. and March 2 at 2 p.m.
The board and superintendent praised the students for their participation and for showcasing activities beyond athletics.
