Magnolia ISD reports construction progress on 22-bond projects; JROTC and event building cleared by fire marshal

Mr. Bruner presented the update, saying the district completed fire marshal inspections on the JROTC building and the new event building the previous week. He said Parkway Junior High remains on schedule for a May delivery, and staff has begun landscaping to ensure establishment before August.
"We got the fire marshal inspection completed last week. We also got the fire marshal inspection completed on the new event building," Mr. Bruner said while reviewing project photos. He added that finishes — walls, ceilings, and flooring — are moving quickly and that life-safety systems are being tested.
The presentation included photographs and progress notes for interior spaces: main canopy and entry, corridors, library areas with upcoming carpet installation, cafeteria and gym flooring, band hall storage and classroom wings where flooring and marker/tack-board installs are finishing. Mr. Bruner also showed the event building interior and said the floor had been ground and was scheduled to be polished.
District next steps
Staff said they will continue finish work and life-safety testing and move toward final inspections and occupancy for the completed buildings. Parkway Junior High’s scheduled May delivery remains on the timeline shared to the board; district staff will return with additional closeout figures and possible additional deductive change orders as allowances are reconciled.
