The Cleveland City Council appointed Pam Harrison as the city’s acting interim city manager following executive session.
Councilmember Mac Waters moved to appoint Harrison and Councilmember Buckley seconded the motion. The council approved the appointment 4-1.
Council remarks during open session thanked Harrison for stepping into the interim role and praised department directors’ ability to manage operations. The mayor and council noted they intend to recruit a permanent city manager within the next 60 days. The mayor said Harrison clarified she was not applying for the full-time city manager position and was accepting the interim appointment as a courtesy to the city; councilmembers expressed appreciation for her willingness to serve while the search proceeds.
