City holds public hearing on anticipated 2025–26 CDBG allocation; about $774,000 expected

The City of Lincoln Park held a public hearing on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) anticipated allocation for program year 2025–26. Staff said the city anticipates an allocation of approximately $774,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; approximately $674,000 is available for projects, with a public-service cap of about $116,000. Staff noted additional program income from the city’s revolving loan fund that may be available for homeowner rehab and housing stock improvement programs.
City staff reminded interested applicants that activities must meet HUD objectives (benefit low- and moderate-income residents, address blight, or meet urgent community needs) and that a minimum of 70% of funds must address activities that benefit low- to moderate-income persons. Staff also cited the city’s five-year consolidated plan (adopted February 2021) as the governing document for allocations.
The clerk noted the application deadline remains open through the 28th of the month and provided a staff contact (Rebecca Smith) for CDBG application submissions and questions. The public hearing was opened and closed during the meeting; no substantive public applicants spoke at the hearing that evening.
