Weber County commissioners approve consent agenda, reappoint two to veterans advisory panel and move to closed session on litigation

Commissioners approved purchase orders totaling $264,637.84 and warrants totaling $1,664,437.42, including an ACH payment to Zions Bank for $339,784.13. Finance staff summarized that roughly $558,000 of payments went to Hogan and Associates; other large payees included Terakee Properties ($169,000), France & Vel Engineering ($103,000) and Next Construction ($101,000). The purchase-order breakdown included purchases for the ice sheet (a Zamboni), ballistic vests for the sheriff's office, fairground sound and lighting services, jail equipment and an evidence refrigerator and freezer.
The commission approved Resolution 10-2025 to reappoint Terry Skow and Dan Cech to the Weber County Veterans Advisory Committee. Kristy Bingham presented the reappointments, saying the two have been involved with the county’s veteran recognition events dating back to World War II commemorations. The resolution passed by roll call; the transcript records affirmative votes during the roll call.
Before the formal actions, Commissioner Bolos read aloud a letter from the mayor and council of Huntsville thanking county staff and the sheriff’s office for assistance during a local water contamination incident. The letter singled out Sheriff Ryan Arbonne, Emergency Manager Lisa Gosline, Valerie Lopez, Jeff Stark and Eli Johnson for their roles; Bolos read, "We are especially thankful for Eli Johnson, who helped during our difficult water situation. He came up to Huntsville and was personally on the scene. He helped provide a refrigerated trailer full of bottled water." The commission did not take separate action on the letter; it was entered into the record as a public acknowledgement.
After the appointments, the commission voted to adjourn the public meeting and convene a closed session "to discuss pending or imminent litigation," as stated on the record. The motion and second were made on the floor and the roll-call portion of the transcript records affirmative votes; the recording stopped after the closed-session vote.
