GIS team testing new county website and land-values mapping tool; committee requests public demo
Summary
GIS staff reported progress on a new LaSalle County website, a 'land values and sales' mapping application tied to the assessor's PAM data, and ward-map production for the county clerk; the committee asked GIS staff to return next month to demonstrate the tools and offer a short training for board members.

GIS staff told the committee the new county website is undergoing internal testing, including mobile-device checks, and that staff will place the site in users' hands for broader testing when internal items are complete.
The GIS team described a land-values-and-sales application that pulls assessment data from the county's PAM system and displays parcel values and sales on a map. The tool allows users to turn layers on and off, run queries by use codes and sale values and dock the filter sidebar so the map can take up the full screen. "The idea would be in a subdivision to be able to see that all the land is being assessed uniformly," GIS staff said.
Staff also said they have produced the first set of ward maps for the county clerk and will produce additional requested maps, including township and legislative overlays. The GIS presenter agreed to return to the committee next month for a short (10'15 minute) demonstration and training open to any board member who wants to attend.
The committee accepted the GIS report and approved payment of related bills.
