- Consent: Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Tooele County and Stockton City for shared use of the South Rim Fire Station — the commission approved the MOU, which allows the Stockton Fire Department to house vehicles in two bays at the South Rim facility to improve response times for the southern area of the county. - Cybersecurity contract: The commission approved switching the county’s cybersecurity services to Sophos Complete Security (endpoint and network protection) at a cost of about $170,000 for three years, replacing the current Arctic Wolf arrangement. Staff said the prior combined contract and endpoint protection totaled roughly $398,000 over three years; the Sophos offer is about $170,000 over three years. Commissioners approved moving forward with Sophos and financing the first year payment (approximately $4,000 in finance charges), with the second-year cost to be included in the 2026 budget. Motion from Councilman Strangberg; second from Councilman Hoffman; adopted.
- Fire engine purchase: The commission approved the outright purchase of a Type 3 fire engine (detailed in a separate article). Motion from Councilman Wardle; second from Councilman Strangberg; adopted.
- Ordinance 2025-3: Amendment to Chapter 4 (renaming Human Services Advisory Committee to Human Services Advisory Council and updating membership, duties and terms) — the commission adopted the ordinance amendment. Motion and second were recorded and adopted by voice vote.
- Tourism Board appointment: The commission approved the appointment of Holly Rimbati to the Tourism (TRT) advisory board; the board had recommended her based on hospitality/events experience and a W-2 connection to an events company that holds events in the county. Motion by Councilman Hoffman; second by Councilman Thomas; adopted.
- Closed session: The commission voted to go into a closed session to discuss a legal matter; roll-call votes recorded as yes by the commissioners present and the meeting moved into closed session.
