Charlie Hertz, introduced as the commission chair, and Buck Trout presented the report. The commission reported 13 applicant tests requested for new hires, five actual tests administered to new hires, four lateral transfers, and five promotional tests for sergeant. The commission reported zero grievances filed alleging violations of civil-service protections, and one informal compliance query. The commission said it revamped its rules with assistance from Mr. Widman to make them clearer for employees and commissioners.
The board received the report by unanimous vote and thanked the commission members for the update.
