Commissioners supported acknowledging the donation but raised technical questions about the proposed routed lettering and thin letter strokes in the "legacy" logo area, concerned about durability and potential chipping. Commissioner Dale (parks maintenance) asked whether the routed lettering would be robust enough for outdoor exposure; staff said they would check with the vendor and consider flush or reinforced lettering.
The commission agreed to request the funds and to seek DPW assistance on installation and placement, with staff to prepare a council action sheet if needed to secure the modest fabrication funds from city or donor-related sources. Commissioners suggested taking commissioning photos when the sign is installed so Saputo can use images for its donor publicity.
No formal ordinance or long-term budget commitment was recorded; staff will follow up with the vendor on lettering and with DPW on mounting and placement options before final fabrication.
