Kingsport MTPO elects Chase Milner as executive board vice chair

The Kingsport Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization elected Chase Milner as executive board vice chair during its meeting on Feb. 13, 2025.
Leslie (MPO staff) opened nominations for the vice chair position and noted that Jimmy had told staff Thomas would be willing to serve but was not present for the meeting. After a nomination, the board moved and seconded the motion to elect Chase Milner. Morris Baker, chairman, called for the vote; members answered “aye” and no members voiced opposition.
The vote followed the MTPO’s annual practice of choosing a vice chair each year while the chair remains in place. Leslie told members the vice chair is elected annually and that discussions about the position had occurred earlier that morning. Chase Milner accepted the nomination when asked.
The board did not record a roll-call tally in the public record beyond a voice vote. At the start of the meeting Leslie stated six of seven voting members were present in the room or represented by proxy.
The election concluded the executive-board portion of the agenda and the MTPO moved on to performance-target items and project updates.
