At a Churchill County meeting, officials approved the agenda and minutes, re-elected three current at-large members to two-year terms and elected Lynn Pierce as chair and Alan Kalt as vice chair to serve one-year terms through February 2026.
The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance led by Greg. Crystal Machado confirmed the meeting agenda was posted in January "between the hours of 9 and 11AM at all the locations listed on the agenda in accordance with statutes," and the board approved the agenda and the minutes of the Aug. 15, 2024, meeting by voice vote.
During new business, a motion was made and seconded to re-elect the three current at-large members to serve another two-year term; the motion passed on a voice vote. Later, a motion to re-elect Lynn Pierce as chair and to re-elect Alan Kalt as vice chair for one-year terms, to run until the next election in February 2026, was made and seconded and passed on a voice vote.
No members of the public offered comment during the public-comment period and the meeting adjourned shortly after the officer elections.
The record in the transcript shows these actions were taken by voice vote; the transcript does not record a roll-call tally or the full names of the individuals who moved and seconded each motion. The agenda-posting statement references Nevada statutes (NRS) as the authority for posting procedures.
