Trustees of the Oklahoma City MAPS Investment and Operating Trust adopted a resolution Feb. 17 recognizing Laura A. Johnson for her service to the city and the MAPS trust ahead of her retirement.
The clerk read a resolution that noted Laura A. Johnson joined the City of Oklahoma City in December 1979, served 45 years, and will retire as an assistant city manager on March 14, 2025. The resolution states Johnson was “one of the original members of the Oklahoma City MAPS investment and operating trust” and credited her with helping to establish and continually improve the trust.
Laura A. Johnson spoke briefly and said she appreciated the recognition but reflected credit to colleagues, listing by name staff and trustees she said contributed to trust work. “The real MVPs here, the real MVPs Jessica, Joanne, Bob, Kevin, and you of course, Madam Chair,” Johnson said in the meeting’s remarks. Trustees offered personal comments praising Johnson’s service, called her a “servant leader,” and noted an upcoming retirement reception at the Civic Center Music Hall on March 14.
