The Upper Dublin School District Board of School Directors approved the appointment of Dr. Luther Green Jr. as the district’s next athletic director at its Jan. 27 legislative meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Smith told the board that after three rounds of interviews the district is recommending "Doctor Luther Green, Jr. to serve as the next athletic director of the Upper Dublin School District,” saying Green “brings a rich background of experiences from an athlete to coach to teacher, assistant principal, and currently serving as a high school principal in Central Pennsylvania.”
The personnel report that included the appointment was moved, seconded and approved during the board’s personnel agenda. Dr. Green briefly addressed the board, saying, "My goal is again to come here and do right by students, do right by people." He also said he and his family look forward to relocating to the area.
The appointment was approved as part of the personnel items presented to the board; the motion and vote were recorded during the personnel committee portion of the meeting.
