Selectmen approve election and town meeting dates, licenses and warrants; all motions unanimous

The Town of Blackstone Board of Selectmen on Feb. 11 unanimously approved a series of routine municipal items, including formal calls for the town election and annual town meeting, licensing actions and payroll and vendor warrants.
The board voted to call the annual town election for April 7, 2025, and to call the annual town meeting for May 20, 2025. The motions were made and seconded from the floor and recorded as approved by voice vote.
The board also approved two home-occupation permits required under Chapter 5, Section 21 of the town bylaws: HO24-15 for Paul and Jacqueline Robinson, and HO24-14 for Paul Dunlap. Both permits were opened for a public hearing notice and then approved after no public comment.
A one-day beer-and-wine license for Dean Bank for a March 12 community small-business event was approved with the condition that the building commissioner and fire chief complete required approvals before the event. Selectmen discussed making the license contingent on the town’s usual safety approvals and the Board recorded that as part of the motion.
The board granted a drain layers license to DL Prime Construction Company and approved payroll warrant 25 EWA 1725 PW 17 and vendor warrant 25 EWA 17.
All motions were approved by affirmative voice votes and recorded as unanimous in the meeting minutes.
