The St. Cloud Planning Commission on an evening meeting approved its previous meeting minutes and elected Philip Lantree as chair and Russell Alexander as vice chair.
The commission first approved the minutes from its last meeting by voice vote, recorded as passing 5-0. After a brief procedural announcement from Jack Morgerson, the commission called for nominations for the chair and vice chair positions. Member Philip Lantree was nominated and, after a second, elected chair by voice vote. Member Russell Alexander was nominated and, after a second by Member Megan Marshall, was elected vice chair by voice vote.
The nominations were handled under the commission's standard procedure for internal elections. Jack Morgerson, attorney for the commission, reminded members that the process is the usual order of calling nominations and then voting if more than one candidate is nominated.
The chair and vice chair elections were uncontested: the motions to elect Lantree and Alexander were each seconded and approved by voice vote. The meeting record shows the commission proceeded to agenda business after the appointments.
The commission also confirmed that Stacy Snyder participated as a voting alternate for the meeting.
No other formal actions or conditions accompanied the elections.
