Two Rivers temporarily moves council meetings while City Hall elevator is rehabilitated

The Two Rivers City Council on Feb. 17 adopted a resolution changing the location for its Feb. 24, March 3 and March 17 meetings because the City Hall elevator will undergo rehabilitation beginning Feb. 24.
City Manager Greg told council the elevator contractor is scheduled to begin work Monday, Feb. 24, and staff are planning for a three- to four-week project. He said council and staff have reserved the community room at Lester Public Library for the work session and regular meetings and noted some committee meetings might be held in other accessible spaces such as the Hamilton Community House if required.
Greg warned residents that the city will not be able to stream directly to the city’s cable channel from alternate locations but will livestream meetings to Facebook and YouTube and make recordings available there. He said staff will post notices at City Hall and arrange for first-floor service to assist members of the public who normally access second- or third-floor offices.
The resolution to change meeting locations was moved by Shannon Derby, seconded by Doug Brandt, and passed by roll call vote.
Staff said they will post alternative locations on agendas and notify the public of any exceptions or special room assignments for boards and commissions during the elevator work.
