Board discusses Kingfisher Community Park outreach; Qualtrics survey and March 22 public session planned

Board members gave an update on community outreach and next steps for the Kingfisher Community Park project.
Kirsten and Brandon told the board that a community engagement meeting on Jan. 27 cleared space for next-phase planning and generated roughly 15–20 names of people interested in participating. Kirsten said she will host a public Q&A and slideshow on March 22 at the library to share the grant presentation, answer questions and invite broader community input. "We have the slideshow from when we presented for the grant. So I'll do that on March 22," she said.
The board also discussed using students in design work and a possible design competition open to East Kingston students from elementary through high school to solicit visionary ideas for the park. Board members agreed to continue promotion of the project and follow up with interested residents.
Separately, the board clarified that the district’s Qualtrics survey remains open and is a single instrument for parents and community members; respondents identify their role (parent, community member, SAU staff, etc.) when submitting responses. Paul had circulated the survey link to add to the district newsletter, and staff confirmed the survey is currently available for responses. No formal decisions or funding actions were made at this meeting.
