City staff presented a landscaping and mowing contract for the Dalton Municipal Airport at the Feb. 17 mayor and council meeting and recommended the low bidder, Imperial Landscapes Inc., for a three-year agreement covering calendar years 2025–2027.
Staff described the scope as weekly mowing for designated areas, biweekly mowing for others, bush and flower bed maintenance, tree maintenance, mulching, weeding and herbicide application across 75 acres. The contract is structured as annual renewals by mutual agreement; staff said work would begin in March of the initial year and is included in the airport’s annual operating budget.
The low bid was $35,999.99 per year, which staff calculated as just under $108,000 for the three‑year term. Staff said Imperial Landscapes is a local contractor and currently holds other city mowing contracts, and that the airport contract vendor differs from the airport’s previous vendor.
A motion to approve the contract was made, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records members responding “Aye” and no roll-call tally was recorded. Staff did not state a contract number or provide a detailed contract start date beyond the March start window for 2025.
