Council approves change order to address drainage, add ADA restrooms at Al Rollins Park

He said the turf installation itself would be deferred and could be completed later if funding allowed. “This drainage is gonna have to happen whether we do the turf or not,” the presenter said.
Staff told the council the Recreation Commission reviewed and supports the proposed change. The project scope aims to preserve Al Rollins as the community’s local little-league complex while Heritage Point will continue to serve as a regional tournament park, staff said.
Council members asked whether construction would disrupt the baseball season. Staff replied design work would proceed first and that construction would be scheduled after the local season, targeting a start window around June–July following design and permitting.
