Plano Parks and Recreation will host a summer hiring event on Saturday, March 15, from 9 a.m. to noon at Carpenter Park Recreation Center, 6701 Coit Road in Plano, organizers announced. The event will accept applications for lifeguards, learn-to-swim instructors, camp counselors, recreation aides and other seasonal positions.
A staff member said applicants must be at least 14 years old and that those applying for aquatic roles should bring a swimsuit. The department said positions offer flexible scheduling, competitive pay, paid training and certification opportunities.
The walk-in event is intended to recruit seasonal summer staff for parks and recreation programs. City staff noted the hiring drive includes training for required certifications for aquatics roles and that further details are available at planoparks.org.
Applicants planning to attend should arrive during the 9 a.m.–noon window and be prepared to complete an application and any on-site steps required for aquatic positions. The department did not specify the number of openings or exact pay rates at the announcement.
