Sen. Fattman presents Massachusetts Senate citations to Blackstone Purple Heart recipients

Fattman said he was grateful to be able to honor service members and their families and read the text of citations recognizing Sergeant Jason Belleau of the Rhode Island National Guard and Sergeant Dennis Famenta of the U.S. Army for their service and the award of the Purple Heart. The citations were signed by the senate president and Senator Fattman. The senator noted two other recipients were not present; he asked the board to assist in delivering those citations to family members.
Selectmen and attendees praised the veterans. A town official noted that Richard Guillebeau (spelled in the meeting record as Richard Gilboa) holds two Purple Hearts and called him one of the town’s most highly decorated living veterans. No formal action or vote was associated with the presentation; it was recorded as a ceremonial recognition.
