One council member moved to appoint Martin Drilliard; the council called for support but none was recorded and the motion failed. Later a different member nominated Jack Hayden and again the council heard the nomination a third time without securing the required support; that motion also failed.
The council did not advance an alternative appointment at the meeting. The clerk and corporation counsel noted the matter remains open for future nomination and appointment under the charter’s procedures.
