Council member publicizes senior snow-removal program and upcoming community events

Santiago Romero announced that qualifying seniors and residents with disabilities who live alone or cannot physically remove snow may apply for free snow-removal assistance through the Serve Detroit program. She provided the program phone number, (313) 224-4415, for sign-ups and volunteer inquiries.
Santiago Romero also promoted a Healthy Homes Foreclosure and Prevention Day (part 2) scheduled for a Saturday in February from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Carpenters and Millwrights Union Skilled Trades Center, 11687 American. She said representatives would be available to help with HOPE applications, Department of Neighborhoods support and wraparound services. Finally, she invited residents to a policy session on the U.S. Constitution at Edison Library, 18400 Joy Road, scheduled for Monday in late February from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
