The council voted unanimously to authorize the mayor to sign an agreement with James Gaines and Loosens LLC to hold a carnival at the Sportsplex in April. The council amended the resolution to change the event dates from March 29–April 6 to April 16–April 19, 2025, before approving the agreement. A council member said the carnival was a strong fundraiser the previous year and returned revenue to the city.
