The Columbia City Planning Commission on Feb. 2025 approved its consent agenda, which included two pending annexation cases recommending city land-use and zoning assignments.
Staff presented the consent items on the published agenda and read the case summaries for annex Dash2024Dash0028 at 2313 Leesburg Road and annex Dash2025Dash0001 at 2309 Leesburg Road. Both items requested assignment of the land-use classification "Urban Edge Residential, large lot (UER2)" and assignment of zoning to "Residential Single-Family Large Lot District (RSF-1)" at the time of annexation. Staff said both properties are currently classified by Richland County as neighborhood medium density and zoned Residential 3 (R-3).
A Planning Commission member moved to approve the January minutes and the consent agenda. A second was given and commissioners responded in the affirmative; the motion passed and the consent items were approved. No members of the public spoke to the consent items during the meeting.
The approved recommendations will be forwarded as part of the annexation process.
The commission chair then moved the meeting to the regular agenda.
