Public Works staff reported they submitted the Municipal Administrative Order (MAO) progress report to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality ahead of the March 1 deadline and attached it to the DMR for continuity of records.
Director Keping said the city completed maintenance on three water filters and returned them to service after media replacement and backwashing. Sewer-line televising and meter replacements are ongoing. "I shipped off the MAO progress report to DEQ today, which is due March 1," Keping said, adding staff sought to submit early and keep records current.
Staff also told council they had received a quote from an archaeological firm to survey the Lagoon property and all associated taxa files. The quoted cost range was between $100,000 and $135,000; staff requested authority to bring the quote back for approval at the Feb. 26 council meeting to secure the consultant's availability. The director said the work covers multiple tax lots and recommended approving the quote in February to avoid losing the firm’s available schedule.
Council directed staff to include the archaeologist quote in the Feb. 26 packet for consideration and to proceed to March if the council prefers to delay. Staff emphasized deadlines associated with the MAO and permit compliance and said the city is coordinating with DEQ staff on next steps.
