The larger award ($76,835) was appropriated to the fire equipment reserve fund to advance future fire apparatus purchases; staff said additional funding will be needed before a major apparatus purchase is finalized. Councilors moved, seconded and approved Resolution No. 3970; no recorded opposition appeared in the meeting transcript.
Council and staff discussed that the Leo Adler trustees specified the uses for the awarded funds, and staff confirmed a local-purchasing preference when possible.
