The Rapid City Council voted on multiple routine and non-routine items at its Jan. 6 meeting, approving the bulk consent agenda, taking action on vision-fund resolutions, and approving a rezoning ordinance on second reading.
The council approved consent items 2–43 on a motion by Roberts, seconded by Roseland. The motion carried.
Item 44, a preliminary subdivision plan request by Advanced Design Engineering and Surveying Inc. for Villa Veil Village Mobile Home Park LLC (property generally described at 390 Creek Drive), was continued to the Feb. 3 council meeting on a motion by Lehman, seconded by Stroman.
Two resolutions related to the city’s Vision Fund were adopted. Resolution 2024-104, establishing a citizen committee to solicit and recommend community projects for Vision Fund allocations, passed on a motion by Maher, seconded by Roseland; the motion carried with one no vote from Councilor Evans. Resolution 2024-107, amending the five-year plan of projects and allocating funds between funding priorities in the Vision Fund, passed on a motion by Maher, seconded by Seacrest; that motion also passed with one no vote from Councilor Evans. Councilor Evans said he opposed changes to Vision Fund allocations without direct voter sanction.
The council approved the second reading of Ordinance No. 6646, amending Section 17.06 of the Rapid City Municipal Code to rezone property at 2015 East Anamosa Street from Medium Density Residential District to General Commercial District. The motion to approve the ordinance was made by Roberts and seconded by Lehman.
Finance Director Daniel Ainsley reported the bill list for the meeting totaled $8,067,086.40. The council approved the bill list on a motion by Roseland, seconded by Roberts.
Ending: The meeting closed with a motion to adjourn that carried. No additional public hearings or appeals were continued or decided at the Jan. 6 meeting.
