Chairman Ryan Beatty presented the Sedgwick County 2024 Chairman’s Award to the Stand Together Foundation during the Jan. 15 commission meeting, highlighting the organization’s community work on foster-care reform, housing and education.
Beatty said conversations with Stand Together helped launch the Care for Every Family Network, a partnership that brought local churches, Department for Children and Families (DCF) support and community groups to address foster-care gaps. After accepting the award, a Stand Together representative (Joe) described a network of roughly 100 collaborators with about 30 funded partners locally and highlighted programs focused on youth aging out of foster care, neighborhood revitalization and fatherhood supports.
Commissioners and county leaders praised the foundation’s role in convening local social entrepreneurs. Commissioner Jeff Howe and others thanked the Stand Together team for its initiatives and urged continued collaboration on foster care, housing and other community issues.
The commission received and filed the presentation as part of the meeting record; no county funding action was announced.
