Veterans Affairs staffer thanks Oconee County Council for long‑term support

The speaker said he has been with the VA office since 1991 and that the office serves ‘‘some 7,000 veterans.’’
He said the VA office has not had budget requests denied in his experience and that the county’s support ‘‘makes our job a lot easier.’’ The staff member invited council members to visit the office for a brief tour and said he would provide a written report of the office’s 2024 activities to Miss Brock, county staff.
The remarks were delivered during the public‑comment period and did not result in any formal action by the council. The representative emphasized gratitude for council support and noted the VA office’s comparatively small budget relative to other county departments.
